HR practitioner appointments

FY C joins Motorola SolutionsStarting April 2017, FY joins Motorola Solutions as talent acquisition specialist, away from her role of looking after global talent acquisition (technical and non-technical) at Jabil. She is now responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process cycle including sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessing and selection of best candidates for assigned positions. She will also look to partner with business leaders on recruitment strategies and building potential talent pipeline. She is based in Malaysia.

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) promotes KS Leong to academy roleSince joining United Overseas Bank (UOB) in 2012, Leong rapidly rose up the ranks, most recently moving into as UOB’s first vice president effective from March 2017 - where he is head of PFS Talent Management and Wealth Academy. Before this, he was in the role of vice president-head of training, licensing and business quality, and financial services. He is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ariel Goh grabs a new role at the Institute of Technical EducationBased in Singapore, Goh takes up a new role as deputy director for business and wellness at the statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Education, starting from April 2017. Starting as lecturer for leisure and travel operations in 2010, Goh has swiftly proven her way up, trying her hand at different departments namely attraction operations, service skills and tourism services.

Farid Ridzuan Mohktar leaves Panasonic for Western Digital Farid switches from HR (recruitment) at Panasonic to become employee relations specialist at cloud storage provider, Western Digital, beginning March 2017. Prior to this, Farid interned as a recruitment specialist at RHB Bank before becoming a full-time personal banker in 2014. He is based in Malaysia.

Automotive website Carsome welcomes Ian SheevenStarting April 2017, Sheeven shifts from his role as talent acquisition specialist at iflix to become talent manager at Carsome. Based in Selangor, Malaysia, Sheeven first started out as tools, technologies and infrastructure coordinator at Datacom SouthEast Asia, before venturing into talent acquisition.

Summer Soh joins Lazada GroupEffective April 2017, Soh leaves her position as recruitment consultant for IT applications at Morgan McKinley to become technology recruiter at Lazada Group. Before these two companies, Soh was looking after contract management and business protection at SThree. She remains based in Singapore.

HR solutions provider appointments

Gina Ng is principal consultant, contract recruitment at RGFPreviously senior consultant, Gina Ng possess more than 12 years of recruitment experience. Ng started out as a junior consultant, progressively moved to greater heights and has managed the P&L of an entire recruitment branch while mentoring a team of recruiters. In 2013, Ng took up the challenge of educating companies on becoming more receptive of hiring senior contract talent. She made the switch to the contract recruitment division where she is now responsible for the placement of contract talent across specialisations and industries.

Adrian Yap CK leaves AmBank Group for AIAYap becomes talent manager at accident and health insurance provider AIA after moving from his role as senior manager for organisational development at AmBank Group, starting April 2017. Prior to this, he was OD manager at Wolters Kluwer Enterprise Services Partners. He is based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Ambition Asia promotes Nikki ReenSince joining Ambition Asia in 2015, Reen has risen up the ranks, most recently taking up the role as senior consultant for finance and accounting, starting April 2017. Before joining Ambition as associate consultant for finance and accounting, Nikki started out as marketing and finance analyst at McAfee Anti Virus Software in India. She is currently based in Singapore.

Thanages Markandan ventures to PEOPLElogy GroupEffective March 2017, Thanages is looking after corporate accounts at culture and leadership coaching consultant, PEOPLElogy Group. Her experience includes a stint as client account manager and learning facilitator at Zubedy (M). She is currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kok Kit Tham joins Inspiration Training and ConsultationInspiration Training and Consultation welcomes Kok as sales manager starting April 2017. He moves over from Orange Revolution, where he was senior sales executive, prior to which he was learning advisor for Training.com Asia. He is based in Bandar Menjalara, Malaysia.

Connie Chung takes up a new role at Aon HewittAfter graduating with honours from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, Chung began her Aon Hewitt journey in 2013 as an intern. From actuarial analyst, she now embraces her new position as consultant, starting from April 2017. She is based in Malaysia.

Speaking to Human Resources, Chung shared that as an analyst she worked on data collection and analysis. "In my current role, I provide consulting services in the areas of employee benefits study, valuation and design, as well as actuarial valuations in Malaysia and Thailand, and I report to Surendran Ramanathan, who is the SEA practice leader for retirement and investment," she added.

Chung pointed out that her top priority for the year is to offer advice and expertise to organisations in the HR space to help them improve their business performance.

Korn Ferry Futurestep appoints Vic Liu as consultant for global consumer marketsKorn Ferry Futurestep promotes Liu from managing associate for global consumer markets to consultant for global consumer markets, beginning April 2017. He is now looking after retained search delivery, with focus on business development and client relationship management. He began his career at Korn Ferry as sourcing specialist, SMC in February 2013. He is based in Shanghai, China.

Ma. Bianca Julienne Ong joins Allegis Global Solutions from Credit SuisseFrom April 2017, Ong begins her journey at Allegis Global Solutions as recruitment resourcing specialist - RPO FLEX after leaving her role as talent acquisition specialist at Credit Suisse. Prior to these, she has worked with companies such as Hyder Consulting and Hewlett-Packard, based in the Philippines.

James Swatton starts fresh with Abacare Group With a dedication to develop solutions through insurance programmes, Abacare Group has appointed Swatton as business development director, from April 2017. Before Abacare, Swatton was Oliver James Associates’ senior consultant. He is currently based in Hong Kong.

London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) promotes Ravi MehndirattaLSBF promotes Mehndiratta from deputy director for sales and front office operations to regional head of business development for South Asia, effective April 2017. Mehndiratta joined LSBF in 2010 as business development manager, quickly rising to his position as regional head. With this new role, he relocates from Singapore to Chandigarh, India.
