The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2018 of over 350 institutions has been released, with two universities from Singapore and nine universities from Malaysia making the list respectively.
The National University of Singapore (NUS) clinched the top spot in Asia, while University of Malaya (UM) was ranked 46 in the region.
The top 10 the 11 universities from Singapore and Malaysia are:

#5: Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU)
#46: University of Malaya (UM)
#99: Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)
#114: Universiti Teknologi Petronas
#129: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
#142: Universiti Putra Malaysia
#162: Universiti Sains Malaysia
#171: Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)
#175: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
Globally, the universities ranked between #22 to #1001.

- Research (volume, income and reputation)
- Citations (research influence)
- International outlook (staff, students and research)
- Industry income (knowledge transfer)
