Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 unveils strongest jury yet

The Asia Recruitment Awards, Asia’s only regional awards show dedicated to recognising and celebrating the best in talent acquisition, has announced a stellar line-up of judges who will single out the best in-house HR teams and recruitment agencies in the Asian recruitment scene.

The Asia Recruitment Awards, a premier event that rewards excellence in recruitment, is happening in Singapore on 7 April, Malaysia on 31 March, and in Hong Kong on 12 April.

“All the judges are first-rate HR leaders and recruiters who offer decades of experience, outstanding accomplishments and commendable leadership,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine. “The Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 jury is looking for enterprising groups and agencies that go beyond traditional standards while delivering results that boost business objectives.”

Here are some of the latest additions to the Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 jury:

With more than 22 years of experience across sales, operations and human resources, Priya Shahané has led large organisations and initiated large change initiatives and operational efficiencies across diverse countries and cultures.

As the current chief human resources officer at AXA Singapore, Shahané oversees talent acquisition, talent development, talent retention, business partnering, and internal communications. She has been with AXA for 13 years performing different functions in sales, operations, and HR.

Devising a comprehensive recruitment strategy is one of the major responsibilities of Vandna Ramchandani as the head of recruitment, philanthropy and engagement at Bloomberg. She supervises talent acquisition and management for Bloomberg throughout the region.

As a human resource and financial services professional for over 20 years, Ramchandani has worked in sales, customer support, data analysis, human resources and leadership roles across Asia. Before her current role, she worked as the company’s global data manager for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, leading a team of more than 250 people.

Empowering HR is the foundation for business success, according to Phan Yoke Fei. In his role as director for human resource & corporate administration at Gardens by the Bay, he is in charge of executing strategic people initiatives to keep the company competitive.

He also oversees legal, corporate services and administration. His credentials strengthened while working in a diverse range of industries, such as investment holdings, land transport, leisure & hospitality, information technology, shipping and business process outsourcing in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Lim Chee Gay carries over 20 years of experience in human resources, manufacturing, information technology and supply chain. He has held management and director positions at country and regional levels, working on new human resources initiatives, transformation, and business process re-engineering and operational excellence. Today, Lim is the chief human resource officer at AIA and a sought-after speaker for HR, management, leadership and Six Sigma conferences.

Ng Siew Siew, the head of people operations at AirAsia, has over 10 years of experience in compensation and benefits as well as general human resources operations. She has worked in the aviation, healthcare and hospitality industries and implemented projects, including PeopleSoft 9.1 for a global payroll module and HR shared services for the AirAsia Group. Ng graduated from the University of Technology, Malaysia and holds a degree in human resources development.

Some of the other companies represented on the Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 jury are Biocon, CIMB, Coca-Cola, Goodyear, Philips, Planet One and many more. All judges are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.

The list of past Asia Recruitment Awards winners is filled with the most reputable companies in Asia: British American Tobacco, EPS, Forefront International, GroupM, Hewlett Packard, HSBC, IHS Global, Intel, Jobstreet, ManpowerGroup, Maybank, Media Prima, Merck Sharp &Dohme, Randstad, SAP and many more.
