Berjaya, Goodyear & Philips join Asia Recruitment Awards jury

The most impressive accomplishments in talent sourcing, hiring, on-boarding and employer branding will be honoured at the Asia Recruitment Awards, Asia’s only regional awards show dedicated to recognising and celebrating the best in recruitment and talent acquisition. The best HR teams and recruitment firms will be named by a panel of veteran HR leaders from major employers across Asia such as Berjaya, Goodyear and Philips.

The Asia Recruitment Awards, a premier event that rewards excellence in HR recruitment, is happening in Kuala Lumpur on 31 March, Singapore on 7 April and in Hong Kong on 11 April.

“The Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 jury is a pool of highly accomplished professionals, gurus, and decision makers who know what quality, innovation, and good business means,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine. “This means that all entries will go through a strict evaluation and have to meet the standards set by the judges.”

Here are some of the latest additions to the Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 jury:

Passionate and enthusiastic are the two words that best describe Petrina Chong, group director of human resources at Berjaya Hotels & Resorts. With over 27 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Chong has a track record in retaining top talent and driving inspirational changes for Berjaya’s suite of hotels. In her current role at Berjaya, she is in charge of directing, implementing and managing the human resource department at Berjaya Hotels & Resorts.

In 2007, Natalie Van Lint joined Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Australia and held a number of roles before performing HR and total rewards functions in 2010. Today, she holds a dual role, as HR director for Goodyear's Singapore business, and director for total rewards at the ASEAN cluster. Van Lint believes that HR is a strategic business partner that can help drive innovation and operational excellence, promote collaboration and facilitate agility in daily operations and decision-making.

Regional expertise is one of the strengths of Edward Lim, head of talent acquisition at Philips. Some of his biggest accomplishments include leading the recruitment function in blue-chip companies like Hewlett-Packard and Rolls-Royce, setting up recruitment teams, either in-house or with a recruitment-process-outsourcing (RPO) partner, and building his own boutique recruitment firm, which was acquired in 2005. Lim’s areas of expertise range from RPO solutions and implementation, pan-Asian vendor management to change management.

Some of the other companies represented on the Asia Recruitment Awards 2017 jury are Arvato, Biocon, CIMB, Coca-Cola, Planet One, Rehau and many more. All judges are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.

The list of past Asia Recruitment Awards winners is filled with the most reputable companies in Asia: British American Tobacco, EPS, Forefront International, GroupM, Hewlett Packard, HSBC, IHS Global, Intel, Jobstreet, ManpowerGroup, Maybank, Media Prima, Merck Sharp &Dohme, Randstad, SAP and many more.
