Check out the C&B and wellness initiatives at eBay and Societe Generale

Speaking to Heather Ang, check out what HR leaders at eBay and Societe Generale highlight as among their plethora of progressive rewards and benefits policies.

Mukta Arya, Head of Human Resources, South East Asia, Societe Generale

Getting employees to lead an active and healthy lifestyle has always been the core objective of the month-long Health & Wellness@SG Singapore at Societe Generale.

"Employees appreciate the efforts by HR to bring benefits closer them in a fun and exciting way, not to mention relishing the opportunity to mingle and interact with colleagues from other departments," affirms Mukta Arya, Head of Human Resources, South East Asia, Societe Generale.

So what started out as a week-long event soon became a much anticipated annual event that is entering into its fifth year, with the take up rate surpassing each year. To back this up, the HR team strives to deliver a wide range of activities to encourage optimum employee participation across demographics.

Arya shares examples of the activities on offer: "Through positive word-of-mouth and feedback, registrations to popular DIY workshops such as scented message candle making, assemble your own terrarium, and essential oil blending were oversubscribed.

"Employees also enjoyed zumba, lunch time movies with free popcorn thrown in, head-and-shoulder massage, staples such as free health screening, fresh fruits distribution and practical lunch time talks such as first aid awareness, reading and understanding food labels, and more."

Sajjad Parmar, Head of Reward – APAC, eBay

eBay has recently implemented a data driven model for the company's entire annual compensation review that looks at salary, bonus and equity from a variety of angles, by using the power of data to really drive pay for performance.

The objective? "Using data analytics to power pay decisions, ensuring better reward differentiation, ensuring pay equity," says Sajjad Parmar, Head of Reward – APAC, eBay.

He affirms the initiative has paid off: "We have seen improvements in how we manage our annual compensation review including reward differentiation, focus on pay equity, and more."

Find out more about these interesting initiatives, as both of these speakers will be at Employee Benefits Asia 2019. The conference will explore all aspects of an effective total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, work-life integration, performance recognition and career development. This year, the regional conference will be held in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
