Employee Benefits Asia 2016: First speakers announced

Senior HR professionals, compensation, benefits and rewards specialists from the biggest and most respected employers in Asia are filling up this year’s speakers line-up for Employee Benefits Asia, the region’s biggest conference dedicated to compensation & benefits strategy.

The latest names on the roster are top HR leaders from AirAsia, BMW, and Mattel.

When Yeoh Sai Yew transformed DiGi’s terms and conditions benefits from a multi-level benefit structure to a single-level structure, the organisation experienced a reduction in the hierarchy level and enhanced communication efficiency.

Yeoh has 15 years of experience in HR, mainly in compensation and benefits, and is currently the head of the people department at AirAsia. He believes that recognising the people who contribute towards the growth and profit of the organisation is central to motivating employees to perform better at their job.

Before his appointment as managing director of BMW in Asia, Axel Pannes served in various functions at BMW headquarters in Germany, such as vice president of retail development, as well as at Rolls-Royce head office in the United Kingdom.

His current role involves overseeing research & development and corporate functions, including the establishment of the Regional Parts Distribution Centre and Regional Training Centre. Pannes’ professional background covers sales & marketing, business development, sales channel strategy and retail development.

Gordon Bedford, global director for the environment, health & safety and corporate social responsibility at Mattel, is into delivering simple strategies that put quality and EHS (QEHS) at the core of business.

He is known for his ability to influence leaders at all levels to easily adopt QEHS and CSR as a core value through the science of motivation and behaviour. When he served as Asia Pacific EHS director for PepsiCo, he was able to initiate transformational leadership and engagement programs which were adopted across the entire corporation.

Past Employee Benefits Asia attendees are top HR executives from leading and international companies in the region, such as Agility, Ascott International, Coca Cola, Ericsson, Google, JT International, Maxis, On Semiconductor, Philip Morris, RHB Bank, UMW Toyota Motor, and many more.
