GSK's Country HR Head on the need to recognise efforts in Indonesia

Did someone say it’s a party?

Yes, the HR Excellence Awards, Indonesia is the biggest HR party happening on 21 November 2019. We have invited a panel of distinguished judges to mark all entry submissions, and we would like to invite you as well!

This week, Priya Veeriah speaks with Saadat Perween Chohan, Country HR Head, GlaxoSmithKline Indonesia about the awards and what to expect.

Q What are your thoughts about HR efforts and talent in Indonesia?

HR areas/specialties are developing in Indonesia. There are a lot of HR practitioners who have grown and benefitted from their organisation to become true future HR business partners, who can share good practices with those that lack the same opportunities.

We need to share good knowledge and recognise all HR efforts, as well as build HR talent in Indonesia, not only to support the business in which they work, but also to bring Indonesia to the next level.

Q What do you believe the HR Excellence Awards can offer to the HR industry?

The HR Excellence Awards is one of the platforms through which HR talent and professionals can share their good practices and get recognition, while learning from one another.

Q What is your advice to HR teams considering participating in the awards?

Oftentimes, it is a journey when aiming to achieve excellence and you need to benchmark yourself with others. This is how you can continue to grow and learn. HR teams should test themselves by joining this award show, see how they have progressed, and also learn from others.

Q Any advice for your HR peers?

There are not many platforms like this in Indonesia, so HR teams should really take the opportunity to join and continue to grow. I am super excited because through this platform many good practices will be seen, and shared where we all can learn together.
