One masterclass, two days, three case studies, four-panel discussions, nine presentations, 25 speakers and over 150 delegates sharing on a range of HR topics from the gamification of leadership development to diversity a back-to-basics approach at this year's Talent Management Asia 2018, Hong Kong held on 25-26 April 2018.
Organised by Human Resources as its flagship event for the fourth consecutive year, this year’s conference was produced by Zoe Lau and Vicky Ng and featured power-packed speakers from all around Asia.
Among the highlights of the conference were presentations on building the next generation organisation, workforce design in the age of artificial intelligence, a case study on factoring diversity into organisational, talent acquisition and leadership development and panel discussions on developing leaders who can drive strategic change to applying your customer experience strategy to your employee search approach.

The conference was opened by Arthur Carmazzi a bestselling author, one of world’s top 10 thought leaders in organisational culture and leadership, in Global Gurus Top 30, 2017. Carmazzi with the keynote address, "the future of work - building the next generation of organisation" asked; Why are companies reinventing the way we work?
Gamification processes are a great way of creating culture. The best employee engagement programmes give instant visible results. Founder of directive communication international Carmazzi shared;
- How to cultivate a vision-centred organisational culture in the era of entrepreneurship.
- The role of gamification in leadership engagement, performance and measurement.
- Building trust in the diversified culture, religion and maturity of people in the Belt and Road regions.
His energetic presentation on day one was followed by;
Executive panel on; the role of HR aligning organisational culture with business strategy with moderator Garrick Lau, CEO, Junior Achievement Hong Kong

One on; recruiting for transformational roles - challenges and opportunities where moderator Lauren Berning, group collaboration manager, The Lane Crawford Joyce Group was joined by
Sudesh Thevasenabathy, head of customer care management, AXA Hong Kong Aalok Gupta, award-winning speaker, global HRD leader and organisation change and transformation expert
Another on; How to develop leaders who can drive strategic growth in this editor of Human Resources magazine Anthony Wong was joined by;
Leigh Stewart, VP of human resources, Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific Sinan Atahan, talent acquisition lead, MIS and MSS, human resources, APAC, Moody’s Corporation
Finally; Caleb Baker, managing director, APAC and emerging markets, Alexander Mann Solutions gave a presentation on the evolution of sourcing in the relationship economy and Peter Hope, global head, leadership academy, Schneider Electric shared with the conference a case study on scaling company-wide success by empowering leadership in the digital world.

John Hansen, vice-president, HCM cloud development, JAPAC, Oracle Corporation opened the second day of the conference giving the keynote address on; tasks not jobs: workforce design in the age of artificial intelligence and advanced automation.
With today's rapidly changing technology, Hansen asks, what do you do when a robot can do your job?
Hanen's presentation on the impact of AI, robotics and automation on workplace and workforce and how this is affecting company's decisions was followed by a case study by Ivory Cai, director, human resources-talent at adidas on a new performance development approach for "create new". The final panel discussion of the conference;
Applying your customer experience strategy to your employment approach
Moderator: Akiko Takahashi, executive vice-president, chief officer human resources/corporate social responsibility, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Panellists: Ivy Leung, head of human resources and administration, Octopus Holdings Limited Irene Leung, head of HR – talent and organisational development, Matilda International Hospital
and a presentation by Robin Ball, founder and managing director, Management Development Services (MDS) on essential leadership skills in for the digital transformation age kept delegates engaged until lunch.
The final four sessions of the conference included;
a master class in leading digital transformation (an HR perspective) by award-winning speaker, global HRD leader and organisation change and transformation expert, Aalok Gupta.
CEO of Jobable, Richard Hansen discussing; making a clear business case for data visualisation and its benefits in HR terms, Lelia Konyn, head of human resources and corporate affairs, Shun Shing Group addressed delegates on diversity a back to basics approach and our last case study, "Nissan factors diversity into its organisational culture, talent acquisition and leadership development" presented by Gayla Cowie, head of HR, Asia and Oceania for Nissan.
