HR Practitioner Appointments

Sun Hung Kai Financial welcomes Carol NgCarol Ng recently joined Sun Hung Kai Financial in Hong Kong as assistant vice president of human resources. Sun Hung Kai Financial offers customised wealth management and investment solutions for retail, corporate and institutional clients. Ng has previously worked as human resources manager with South China Group, and as assistant manager for human resources with KTL International.

Douglas Wong takes on regional HR partner position at Universal Music GroupUniversal Music Group has appointed Douglas Wong as regional HR partner, based in Hong Kong. Wong joined the Group in earlier this year as regional payroll specialist, and his previous experience include working with Schneider Electric as human resource officer and as temp HR officer at BASF.

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Steven Yeong joins VideoMyJob as customer success managerBringing with him 15 years of experience in the recruiting world, Steven Yeong has taken on the role of customer success manager at VideoMyJob. Based in Singapore, VideoMyJob helps hiring manager, HR and recruitment consultants create engaging, well-branded, video job ads that will engage and attract better quality candidates. Prior to this, Yeong served as head of talent acquisition for APAC at Sony Pictures Entertainment and has worked with Hof Consulting & Informed Talent as talent sourcer/agitator for Asia Pacific.

Speaking to Human Resources, he said: “The priority for 2018 is to train our global clients in Singapore on how to create video job advertisements that will wow candidates into applying for jobs. It’s also my role to evangelise why video job ads are the way to go in terms of bringing jobs to life.”

Oracle appoints Mark Wadsley as head of digital transformation for digital marketingMark Wadsley has been tasked to lead digital transformation for digital marketing at multinational computer technology corporation Oracle in Hong Kong. He has been with Oracle since 2015, having held the role of senior director of social media programs APAC. Prior to that, he served as head of talent acquisition for EMEA and APAC for Visa.

On his appointment, he told Human Resources: “Working at Oracle has been an incredible journey; leadership like Francois Lancon, Amanda Jobbins, Alison Sibree and my new boss Mark Baker define a culture that sees benefit in transferable skills. Digital Marketing is so contemporary in Oracle; working with colleagues like Cath Hodgson Croker, Huw Hopkins and Amy Slayter, you know that transforming our business is a certainty."

Jonathan Khoo joins AIMS International as managing partnerExecutive search firm AIMS International recently brought on Jonathan Khoo as managing partner for South East Asia. AIMS International provides clients with customised, global executive search and talent management services in 50 countries across all continents. Khoo has had extensive experience in executive search, having spent time as managing partner at NGS Global and managing director at Strategic Executive Search (SES) Group.

Daniel Ong and Shereen Tan move up at AmbitionDaniel Ong was recently promoted to managing consultant at global boutique recruitment firm Ambition, based in Singapore. He joined the firm in 2015 as a consultant, advancing to the title of associate consultant and later to senior consultant.

Speaking about his new role, he told Human Resources: “I have been with the company coming 2 years 5 months now and it’s my first job fresh out of graduation. For now, my focus is mainly on IT infrastructure and security recruitment across all industries, with a strong focus on banking and financial services. I might be potentially looking to hire someone within the team should the business scales.”

Meanwhile, Shereen Tan recently advanced from principal consultant to management consultant at Ambition in Singapore. As a trained accountant and certified recruiter, she handles the full spectrum of recruitment, from the sourcing of candidates to the business development of new clients and managing relationships with existing clients. Tan previously held a number of roles at Hays, such as section manager and senior consultant. Before that, she worked as a recruitment specialist at Robert Half.

On her priorities coming into this role, Tan said: “The plan for next year would be to expand into new areas such as project and change management, while at the same time building up my team.”

Jessie Wu comes onboard Morgan McKinley as associate consultant

Morgan McKinley recently moved to an associate consultant role at recruitment firm Morgan McKinley. Wu supports the firm’s IT team in Hong Kong, and is responsible for recruiting mid level IT professionals for top tier financial institutions. Prior to this, she worked in the sales and marketing team of global ICT Solutions company NTT Com Asia Limited. She later joined Adecco as a recruitment consultant focusing on banking and finance contract roles.

Bond Consulting Asia Limited welcomes Yannie YeungYannie Yeung has joined Bond Consulting Asia Limited in Hong Kong as an associate consultant. Bond Consulting Asia Limited is an executive search consulting firm that provides the highest level of professional services for top tier multinationals and local conglomerates. Yeung’s previous experience include working as business development manager at Monster and in talent acquisition at Avery Dennison.
