HR practitioner appointments

Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts promotes Jon TeohIn May 2017, Teoh was promoted by the international hospitality brand to the role of group director of learning, based in Thailand. Prior to the promotion, he was the group learning manager at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts. Before joining Banyan tree Hotels & Resorts, he was with Dorsett Hospitality International as the area training and quality manager for the SEA region.

Sathiaseelan (Sathia) Margammuthu joins Henkel from DellEffective May 2017, Sathiaseelan (Sathia) Margammuthu moved from being the talent acquisition senior advisor - regional sourcing manager (social media and community professional) at Dell, to the role of APAC and SEA employer branding and recruitment senior manager at Henkel. In this new role, Sathiaseelan (Sathia) Margammuthu will be based in Singapore.

Commenting on his top priorities for the first year, Sathiaseelan (Sathia) Margammuthu told Human Resources, “My top priorities include overseeing and tracking successful implementation of recruitment and employment branding programs across the region; driving recruitment programs in the SEA market to support various business units; recommending recruiting solutions to the business that can solve hiring needs.”

At the same time, Sathiaseelan (Sathia) Margammuthu looks to simplify and customise hiring processes, and programs that helps in meeting talent needs, as well as promote and train business and recruitment team on best practice on recruiting solutions and as a sourcing channels expert.

Mark Foo joins Wirecard AG as lead recruiterFoo joined the payment processing and issuing services specialist in May 2017, moving away from his previous role as managing consultant at TalentGrid Ventures. Prior to that, Foo was a managing consultant at Global Search Partners. With this most recent move, Foo will remain based in Singapore.

Infinite Computer Solutions welcomes Sabina James to its HR teamJames joined the IT company in May 2017 in the role of human resources and recruitment operations executive, based in Malaysia. This saw her moving away from her previous company, CSC, where she joined in the role of recruitment coordinator in June 2015 before being promoted to associate professional human resources in November the same year.

Rung Jaismut is the SVP for executive recruitment at Central GroupBased in Thailand, Jaismut joined the retail company in May 2017, moving away from her previous role as engagement manager in Heidrick & Struggles. Prior to that, she was with Korn/Ferry International as the South East Asia / APAC life sciences market, client services director - Thailand.

On the responsibilities for her new role, Jaismut told Human Resources that she is "responsible for attracting the right talent at the top/senior level, and being the strategic partner to deliver the best in class candidates for the leadership team across Central’s business groups."

Jaismut added that she "works closely and reports into Stewart Stemple, SEVP and chief human resources officer.

Allianz Global Investors recruits Serena WongWong joined the investment management company in the role of human resources business analyst, effective May 2017. Based in Hong Kong, she will be working closely with the head of HR solutions, Asia Pacific, to prepare reports, analytics, programs and process reviews on various HR processes. Prior to that, Wong was in the role of human resources analyst at Hutchison Ports.

Aimee Broom is a recruiter at Société GénéraleBroom joined the European financial services group in June 2017, moving away from her previous role as senior consultant INFINITI global human resources at Infiniti Motor Company. Prior to that, she was with Boeing Defence Australia as an HR officer.

HR solutions provider appointments

Chris Saw joins Barrington James as a recruitment specialistBased in Malaysia, Saw joined the recruitment firm in May 2017 in the role of recruitment specialist - quality assurance and quality control, moving away from his previous role a sales executive at Lowyat MSC. Prior to that, Saw was with kevokloud as a business development executive.

Shai Ganu moves from Mercer to Willis Towers WatsonEffective June 2017, Ganu was appointed by Willis Towers Watson to the role of managing director, talent and rewards business - South Asia. Prior to that, Ganu was with Mercer for five years - joining in May 2012 as the market business leader - ASEAN talent consulting, executive rewards leader - ASEAN; before being promoted to the role of partner, market business leader - talent, Asia at Mercer. Ganu will remain based in Singapore.

Aspire promotes Laura DenholmHaving joined the recruitment company in July 2015 as a consultant, Denholm quickly rose up the ranks. She was promoted to senior consultant in October 2016, and most recently, in May 2017, to team manager. Prior to joining Asipre, Denholm was a native English teacher at Goodie Education. She will remain based in Hong Kong.

Speaking about her new role, Denholm told Human Resources: "My top priorities would be to coach and strengthen my team (content and creative recruitment) so as to build up their confidence and help move the business forward further."

Additionally, Denholm aims to work with the other team managers and Aspire's regional director to ensure the Asia business consistently flourishes.

Hafizzul Sulaiman joins AXA Affin General InsuranceBased in Malaysia, Sulaiman joined the insurance company in May 2017, moving away from his previous role as a recruiter at AirAsia. Prior to that, Sulaiman was with East Coast Economic Region Development Council as an executive, people planning and talent acquisition.

Eric Salmon & Partners welcomes Andre BaumgartnerBaumgartner joined the executive search firm in April 2017 as principal, moving away from his previous role as a director at nbi Human Capital. Prior to that, he was in the role of principal at CTPartners. With this most recent move, Baumgartner will remain based in Singapore.

Daniel Tran joins Robert Walters’ recruitment consultant teamBased in Vietnam, Tran joined the professional recruitment consultancy in May 2017 in the role of recruitment consultant - sales and marketing, industrial sector. This saw him moving away from his role as a conference producer with Singapore Exhibition Services. Prior to that Tran was a conference producer at Clariden Global.

Nicole Peng moves up the ranks at CartusPeng was promoted by the corporate relocation services company in May 2017 from the role of senior international assignment consultant, to the role of team lead. Before joining Cartus, Peng was with Pricoa Relocation as a property service manager based in China. With this recent move, she will remain based in Singapore.

Morgan McKinley welcomes Jackie PanopioPanopio joined the specialist recruitment consultancy in May 2017 as a senior consultant - banking and financial services (contracting). This saw her moving away from her previous role as senior consultant - banking and financial services at Ambition Asia. She will remain based in Singapore.

Ryan Gabriel moves up the ranks at Michael PageHaving joined the recruitment company in April 2011 in the role of consultant - finance and accounting, Gabriel quickly moved up the ranks, with his most recent move being from associate director - procurement, supply, engineering and manufacturing, to associate director - procurement, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing, in May 2017. Gabriel will remain based in Indonesia.

Heidrick & Struggles partner Alain Deniau relocates to SingaporeHeidrick & Struggles has announced that Alain Deniau , partner in the consumer markets and CEO and board practices for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, has relocated from Hong Kong to Singapore, where he will lead the consumer markets practice for the ASEAN region.

New appointments at Hays

Wouter Jaarsma moves up the ranks at HaysBased in Singapore, Jaarsma has been promoted by the recruitment company from the role of section manager supply chain and procurement, to the role of business manager supply chain and procurement, effective May 2017. Prior to joining Hays in September 2011 in the role of consultant supply chain and procurement, Jaarsma was an assistant manager at HMSHost.

Tom Tan has been promoted by HaysTan has been promoted by the recruitment company form the role of senior manager, based in Suzhou, China, to the role of senior manager life sciences, based in Singapore. Prior to joining Hays in September 2008 in the role of consultant, pharma, Tan was a consultant and account manager at New Heaven HR Consulting.
