HR Practitioner Appointments

Woolworths Group's Adele Preston moves out of Hong KongAfter spending almost three years in Hong Kong leading the group's HR function, Preston has relocated to Melbourne Australia and was appointed head of culture & people - Dan Murphy's and Langton's at Woolworths Group in January.   She joined Woolworths in 2014 and moved to Hong Kong in 2015 to serve as Head of HR- Asia.

China CITIC Bank International strengthens HR team Vinci Yau was appointed human resources business partner at China CITIC Bank International in January.  Her previous position was talent acquisition at AXA.  She had been serving in the human resources sector since 2013.

Promotion at Swire BeveragesGurveen Bhasin was promoted from human resources manager to senior human resources business partner in January.  Prior to joining Swire Beverages in 2015, she was a lead consultant at Hay Group.  She started her career in human resources in 2009 with Hay Group in India.

Promotion at The Hongkong and Shanghai HotelsCelia Cheung was promoted from manager, HRIS to senior manager, HR system solutions in January.   She joined The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels in 2013, after spending three years with adidas Group.  She brings with her more than 10 years of experience in HR.

VF Hong Kong promotes human resources managerAngela Floyd was promoted in January to human resources manager, employee engagement @ communication, Asia at VF Hong Kong.  She was promoted from assistant manager, employee communication and engagement.  She had been with the company since 2013.


HR Solutions Provider Appointments

LinkedIn appoints head of talent solutionsNick DeMarinis was appointed head of talent solutions, North Asia in January.  In the new role, he will lead LinkedIn's talent solutions business across North Asia.

DeMarinis joined the company in 2011 in New York and relocated to Hong Kong in 2013.  Prior to his appointment as head of talent solutions, he was the head of North Asia search & staffing solutions.

Heidrick & Struggles names Stephen McAlinden regional leader for Asia PacificHeidrick & Struggles has appointed Stephen McAliden as their new regional leader for Asia Pacific. McAliden succeeds Steve Mullinjer who will continue to pursue client work for the CEO and Board Practice globally. In this new role, McAlinden will lead 14 offices across Asia-Pacific while continuing his client work as a partner focusing on corporate and investment banking.

With more than 25 years’ experience in leadership search, McAlinden is well known to major companies in the financial sector. He joined Heidrick & Struggles eight years ago and has placed executives across senior management within investment banks, securities firms, asset management companies, commercial banks and other financial institutions.

Prime Insight welcomes new associate directorDena Haron was appointed associate director at Prime Insight in January.  She came over from Elliott Scott HR where was an associate director.  She had worked in the United States, Malaysia and Japan before relocating to Hong Kong in 2011.  She started her career in Hong Kong as a consultant with Michael Page.

Promotion at A.S. Watson GroupCynthia Lee was promoted in January from human resources manager to senior human resources manager.  She had been with A.S. Watson Group since 2013.  She has more than 20 years of experience working in HR.

Deloitte strengthens talent acquisition teamNoel Chen joined Deloitte as talent acquisition in January.  Her previous appointment was talent acquisition at PeopleSearch.  She started her career in talent acquisition in 2014.
