"Know yourself and you will win all battles," Sun Tzu wrote in his world-famous The Art of War. Since its publication in the 5th century BC, the book and many different interpretations of it have been used by business professionals around the world to help them become better leaders.
The book may be old, and Sun may not have had to deal with the peculiarities of modern-day office politics, but his advice still holds true today. The only way to become the best leader you can be, is by knowing how good you are to begin with.
