Effective 31 August, the South China Morning Post has appointed Qin Sheng as its senior vice president of its People Department at its headquarters in Hong Kong.

Prior to her appointment at the Alibaba-owned publisher, Sheng was part of the leadership team at H&H Group for people & culture – in which capacity she oversaw significant organisational changes to its global HR practices.

Preceding that, Sheng was the HR director at LVMH Fashion Group Asia Pacific, where she implemented an analytic approach to talent management and budgeting across multiple brands and introduced digital initiatives to boost the employee experience and strengthen LVMH’s diversity programme.

“We are delighted to have Sheng join our leadership team. The coronavirus pandemic has introduced new challenges and new opportunities in the workplace, and Sheng’s expertise and experience will help elevate our value-driven culture, people-first strategies, and overall employee experience,” said Gary Liu, CEO of SCMP.

“It’s an exciting time to join a media company that embraces digital transformation initiatives while placing a strong emphasis on values, communication and an overwhelming dedication to building its people. I’m looking forward to working with a purpose-driven team and am thrilled at the opportunity to take our organisational culture to new heights,” added Sheng.
