Legoland and Samsung join HR Excellence Awards 2016 jury

The HR Excellence Awards, Asia's only regional awards recognising & celebrating excellence in outstanding human capital strategy, welcomes the latest HR leaders to join the awards’ distinguished jury: top HR professionals from FANCL, Legoland, L'Oreal, Samsung, and Scania.

This year’s judges will evaluate the entries of the finest HR teams across Asia that are competing for glory in 24 award categories. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place in Malaysia on 4 October, in Hong Kong on 6 October, and in Singapore on 19 October.

"The HR Excellence Awards 2016 seeks to spotlight the exceptional contributions of HR to their organisations and the industry in general," said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine. "This year’s judges are widely regarded for their own accomplishments, expertise, and experience in their professional careers."

Here are the latest additions to the HR Excellence Awards 2016 jury.

Collin Lam is greatly admired for his strong business sense and results-driven management style and his track record in supporting top management in making major organisation changes. Before being appointed as the regional director for human resources and administration at FANCL, Lam worked at several multinational organisations such as Serco Group and Polo Ralph Lauren. Lam received his graduate & post graduate education from Stanford University, the University of South Australia, and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

Getting the right talent, providing them with opportunity to grow and keeping them within the company is Murni Masrom’s major principle as an HR practitioner. Masrom, human resources director at Legoland Malaysia, worked at Marriott International for 16 years with assignments in different geographical locations including Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Indonesia, UAE and the Philippines. With over 20 years experience in human resources, Masrom has developed her leadership expertise in attracting, developing and retaining highly motivated and engaged employees. Masrom holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from West Texas State University and a certificate in Industrial Relations from MEF Academy.

With over 18 years experience in various roles within human resources across diverse organisations, Roshni Wadhwa has developed expertise in HR strategy formulation, building high performance culture, people planning, talent acquisition strategy, rewards & recognition, and career & development planning. Today, as the director for human resources at L'Oreal, Wadhwa is in charge of formulating HR strategy for the company and driving a culture of excellence. Wadhwa holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Pune.

Grace Wong is the vice president and head of human resources at Samsung, covering South East Asia, Oceania and Taiwan. Wong’s areas of expertise are talent management, talent acquisition and total rewards. Before joining Samsung, she was with Thomson Reuters. Wong has also extensive experience working for MNCs in similar regional capacity in the information and technology sectors.

As Scania’s HR director, Anuradha Katyal oversees employee relations, employee communication, training and engagement, compensation & benefits, HR business partnership, occupational health, safety, environment, recruitment and organisational development. She also works closely with the managing director to develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with the company’s corporate goals. With over 20 years experience in HR, Katyal has developed extensive international exposure, from the US to Asia Pacific, both on a strategic and operational level.

Some of the other companies represented on the HR Excellence Awards 2016 jury are Agility, Cisco, Citi, DKSH, McCann Health, Watsons, and many more. All judges, such as Sue Anne Lee, vice president for human resources at Volvo Trucks, are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.
