Malaysia's Human Resources Ministry unveils 2023 Madani Career Incentive for employers and TVET graduates

Eligible employers who hire long-term unemployed youth, women, orang asli, ex-convicts, and more will receive RM600 a month for a three-month period.

Malaysia's Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) has launched the 2023 Madani Career Incentive, covering two programmes, and involving Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

As reported by Bernamathe launch of the programme was announced by Deputy Minister of Human Resources, on behalf of Minister of Human Resources V. Sivakumar, in a speech at the Social Security Organisation's breaking fast event on Thursday (13 April 2023).

Per the report, the programmes related to this incentive, and what they entail, are as follows:

  1. Program Bina Kerjaya
    • This programme, as cited in the report, aims to strengthen Malaysia's labour market, in order to increase the potential of individuals in the informal sector to obtain formal employment through their studies.
    • This will include a rate that covers training fees of up to RM4,000, as well as a monthly allowance of RM300 for no more than three months.

  2. Program Daya Kerjaya
    • As stated in Bernama's coverage, under this programme, employers who hire long-term unemployed youth, women, orang asli, persons with disabilities, the hardcore poor, parolees, ex-convicts, as well as vocational training graduates have been receiving financial incentives.
    • These incentives, at a rate of RM600 per month for a three-month period, are provided to employers for applications submitted starting 1 April 2023, for new hires beginning 1 January of the year.

In addition to this, MOHR will also be focusing on developing the MYFutureJobs satellite centres located in urban transformation centres across the nation, as an avenue to provide "faster and easier access to jobs" for both employers and job seekers.
