Malaysia's best new recruitment agency of 2015

New kids on the block, Agensi Pekerjaan Executive Recruiters, beat out the competition to secure gold as Malaysia's best new recruitment agency, at the inaugural Asia Recruitment Awards.

The award was handed out by Anubhav Shrivastava, global talent architect of the digital business at Accenture, and one of the jury members (pictured - extreme left), in a process where all entries were validated by practicing HR professionals across the region.

With headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Executive Recruiters has developed a network of professional alliances in Singapore, Hong Kong, China and India since 2010.

In keeping step with current trends, the team launched a new campaign early 2015 targeting potential candidates, particularly Gen Y, who have had constant access to technology, requiring employers to update their hiring strategies.

The campaign is aimed to educate candidates on how to strengthen their CV, through aspects like addition of a video, links to their social media profiles, and professional blogging.

The standout feature was that candidates' inputs were involved from the beginning, in terms of assessing where they currently stand and what they need in the future, and their experience with the company as well as potential employers.

Not only did this proactive surveying help add value to the campaign, but it also identified potential issues that candidates may have in terms of moving to a social way of applying for jobs.

Larry Law, Executive Recruiters' senior talent acquisition manager, affirmed his belief in this approach.

"The simplicity and personalisation of the strategy indicated that we sensed the current employment market sentiment right," he explained.

Alongside this, the company has focused on tweaks to streamline processes, such as improvements in the IT infrastructure the the ER system and website, and the hiring of consultants.

As a result, the company is now securing and placing in the range of 60-80 candidates each year. The turnover rate of candidates who are unable to complete the minimum guaranteed period with an employer has been less than 5% in the last 2 years.

Adds Law, "Our strategy has successfully bridged the gap between talent and the organisation in a shorter period of time."
