Manulife debuts its first virtual townhall meeting

閱讀中文版本

On 20 February, Manulife held its first virtual all-staff meeting. Since health and wellness are the company's top priorities these days, there was a special health information session in addition to the usual business results and development updates.

Nearly 800 employees took part in the video conference.

Guest doctor Joseph Tsang, an infectious diseases specialist, shared precautionary measures related to containing the spread of COVID-19, and addressed employees’ questions about the disease and personal hygiene.

Manulife also provided its staff with regular company updates, health tips and a safe working environment, should their presence be required in the office or outside their homes.

The company has taken measures including stepped-up office cleaning and disinfection, and the provision of masks, alcohol-based hand sanitisers and disinfectant wet tissues to employees working in the office, as well as body temperature measurements.

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Manulife has implemented work-from-home arrangements to help prevent the spread of the virus among its employees, but has maintained business as usual through using technology with a high degree of effectiveness.
