Recruitment consultants with the best candidate experience in Malaysia

Look no further than Robert Walters, ManpowerGroup Malaysia and CnetG Asia if you are searching for recruitment consultants who deliver candidates a great experience in the hiring process.

These companies bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively in the inaugural Malaysia edition of the Asia Recruitment Awards, judged by senior HR directors across Asia.

End-to-end efficiency in recruitment is what Robert Walters places emphasis on, starting from the minute they walk into the office, where the receptionist is awaiting their arrival.

Consultants are not allowed to keep them waiting for too long, but during the wait, they are provided reading materials based on the company's latest research. Consultants are also trained to provide them honest and constructive feedback, to help hone their interview skills.

Recent resources developed for candidates include several mobile applications, such as Salary Checker app, Job Search app and Manga Interview Guide app.

All initiatives are taken into account for the company's annual candidate satisfaction surveys to gather feedback on its services and people.

Sally Raj, the company's Malaysia MD, acknowledged both consultants and candidates for this recognition.

She commented, "Credit goes to our consultants for tirelessly seeking to best understand the needs and aspirations of their candidates. We would also like to thank our candidates for giving us the opportunity to be a part of their career development."

One of the distinctive candidate-focused initiatives at silver-winner ManpowerGroup is the Associate Reassignment Team, to cement the company as a one-stop-shop career opportunity platform for candidates.

It does so by proactively facilitating their career development through re-deployment to new assignments. Partnerships with education institutes also ensure the company can train and place fresh graduates faster, by equipping them with soft and hard skills, at company costs.

Michelle Teoh, the company's strategic account manager, adds: "The proactive reassignment programme facilitates career development, enriches experience and enhances the earning potential for individuals."

Third-ranked CnetG Asia pins its strategy on investigating beyond the job description, to identify the traits needed in the role, through a focused meeting with the decision makers.

This helps the recruiting team to size up the whole opportunity to present the full scope of the position to the candidate, and see if they are capable of leading in that role.

However, recruitment is only part of the solution, as the company lists lots of advisory and engagement, facilitation of discussions and reaffirmation of information shared, as part of the process.

P. Raj Kumar, the company’s director of executive placements, and practice leader of energy, explained, "We take a long-term perspective and impart extensive knowledge of the client, the position, the challenges and most importantly prospects for career growth."

"We are part of the career transition and it is gratifying to see the candidates we place get promoted to bigger roles in short period of time."
