RHB Banking Group promotes volunteerism among employees

Last weekend (6 and 7 October 2018), RHB Banking Group (RHB) held its corporate responsibility (CR) programme, themed 'Enriching the Community, which saw its employees volunteering their time in charitable causes.

There were 33 teams comprising 14,500 employees, embarking on 43 initiatives around education, environment, infrastructure, family/community well-being and health and wellness, under the bank's annual RHB Touch Hearts initiative. Employees managed to raise more than RM500,000 in cash and kind through various projects this year, to support the respective charitable initiatives.

RHB Touch Hearts is a yearly initiative where all RHB employees across ASEAN countries of branch operations, organise fund raising activities in support of various initiatives with underprivileged and marginalised members of the community.

Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, group managing director for RHB Banking Group and chairman of RHB Foundation said: "Our annual RHB Touch Hearts initiative is aimed at promoting the spirit of volunteerism amongst our employees and to provide them with an avenue to lend a helping hand to those in need, particularly children and youths."

Over the last three years since the start of CR, RHB through this initiative has raised in cash and kind a total of close to RM1.3 million and reached out to more than 18,900 underprivileged and marginalised members of the community.
