Minister of Finance Tengku Zafrul Aziz noted that this round of approval will benefit close to 52,000 micro SMEs who successfully appealed for the Grant in December 2020.

Starting today, 5 February 2021, a total of RM155mn will be disbursed to micro SMEs in Malaysia, who have successful appealed for the Special Prihatin Grant (GKP 2.0) in December 2020.

The GKP is a one-off financial assistance for eligible small and medium enterprises (SMEs), under the Kita Prihatin package. Amounting to RM3,000, it is meant to alleviate the financial burden these businesses face due to the spread of COVID-19. The assistance also aims to increase production productivity and services for the survival of micro SMEs.

In a statement, Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Minister of Finance, noted that this round of approval will benefit close to 52,000 micro SMEs. From today, payment will be credited directly to the bank account registered during the appeal application, and a review on the approval status can now be done on the GKP portal.

Taking into account GKP 1.0 and GKP 2.0, including approved appeals, the total number of GKP recipients has now reached almost 900,000 micro SMEs, with a total financial assistance of RM2.7bn.
