The most popular time to conduct video interviews with candidates

If you're looking to provide a good interview experience to candidates, make note that three in every five video interviews are completed outside of typical business hours (9-5), either after-hours on a weekday, or on the weekend.

Alongside, home is the most popular location for candidates to undertake a video interview (86%), while a friend's home and even the candidate's current workplace are equally (un)popular at 5%.

These findings were derived from Sonru's new whitepaper, which also found that a quarter of all remote interviews are now completed on mobile devices, with IOS systems edging out Android systems (18% versus 8%).

The Sonru team also identified best practices for recruiters to conduct effective video interviewing:

1. Use video introductions: Just over four in five (81%) of the campaigns studied with a 100% completion rate had personalised video introductions.

2. Ask the right number of questions: The majority of interviews (75%) with a full completion rate asked between 5-8 questions per interview, with the least (11%) asking fewer than five questions.

3. Get the interview duration right:  The majority of full-completion interviews (47%) were between 10-14 minutes in length, followed closely by interviews between 15-19 minutes (26%).
