Transforming HR technology to connect with talent

Based on conversations with more than 12,800 CxOs worldwide, including 2,139 CHROs, the 19th edition of the IBM C-Suite Study, “Unplug from the past” explores what successful leaders are doing to prepare their enterprise for the future, from the CHRO perspective.

The people pendulum is in full swing again. After fluctuating in importance for over a decade, the focus on talent has risen sharply across the C-suite this year. CEOs in particular, are paying close attention with 65% expecting that people skills will have a strong impact on their businesses over the next several years, and will prompt the creation of new strategies.

Research shows that only 28% expect their enterprise to address changing workforce demographics with new strategies. As organisations strive for entirely new business models — collaborating with partners across highly orchestrated ecosystems or digital platforms — it’s time for HR to take bold steps to foster reinvention and ensure talent flourishes across the enterprise.

Human Resources is proud to announce that IBM Singapore is on board as a strategic partner for HR Tech Interactive 2018, Singapore, Asia’s most innovative and exclusive HR technology conference in the region, delving into pressing issues regarding the changing digital landscape for the HR industry. The one-day interactive conference will take place on 20 September in Singapore and 26 September in Malaysia.

IBM Singapore is represented by Arun Biswas, managing partner of global business services, IBM Singapore who will share the insights from the IBM C-Suite Study and IBM’s own HR transformation story which has helped to save more than US$100 million on just HR processes.

His keynote on “Reinventing HR to Effect Change” will focus on the shifts that are impacting HR practices to adapt and transform to thrive in the digital era; and on how technology can be a strong enabler for HR organisations on this transformational journey.

To put the HR story into context, it’s important to look at the new business landscape. Today, four macro trends have emerged: market incumbents are rising, personalisation is taking off, platforms are disrupting industries, and agile methods are driving innovation.
