Updates to EP renewal process in Malaysia to take effect 1 July 2021

This update, which involves doing away with three documents, will apply to expatriates who will remain in Malaysia and wish to proceed with their EP renewal for the same position in the same company.

The Immigration Department of Malaysia has announced an update to the renewal process for the Employment Pass (EP), effective 1 July 2021 (Thursday).

This update will be applicable to expatriates who will remain in Malaysia and wish to proceed with their EP renewal for the same position in the same company.

From 1 July, the following three documents will no longer be required to be uploaded during the EP renewal application:

  • Education certificate
  • Resume
  • Job description

Pass holders with queries have been directed to write in to the Expatriate Services Division at this email address
