Winners and photos: HR Innovation Awards 2017, Hong Kong

On 19 October, Human Resources welcomed over 220 esteemed guests to a glittering awards ceremony for the HR Innovation Awards 2017, Hong Kong – one of the largest award shows in Hong Kong dedicated to celebrating achievements within the HR profession.

Held at The Mira Hong Kong, the event saw the city’s best HR teams come together to celebrate their wins across 27 categories. Since its inauguration in Hong Kong in 2015, the HR Innovation Awards have continued to grow, and this year 112 entries competed in the final stage.

The big winner this year was JTH Group, picking up in impressive 11 awards in total, including the HR Grand Winner 2017 award, and the gold for Excellence in Employer Branding and Excellence in HR digitalisation.

NWS Holdings took home the award for Employer of the Year, after having collected the silver in the Excellence in Compensation & Benefits category.

The HR team at A.S. Watson Group had the honour of being crowned HR Team of the Year, as well as picking up trophies in an additional 11 categories, including Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing and Excellence in Social Media.

Another outstanding performer of the night was DBS Bank (Hong Kong), taking home the gold award for Excellence in Leadership Development and Excellence in Talent Management.  

Commenting on the team's achievement Sharon Cheng, managing director and head of human resources for Hong Kong and China, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) said “We are constantly reshaping DBS into a great workplace that attracts, retains and nurtures talent. Our award wins reflect our commitment to enhancing the employee journey through innovation.”

Taking a moment to recognise individual success within the HR comunity, the jury awarded Yuki Chan from Vinci Construction Grands Projets (SCL 1103 & 1122) the award for Young HR Talent of the Year, celebrating her career progression and dedication to the profession.

Rewarding his accomplishments and contributions to the business, Derek Wu at Lee Kum Kee Company was named HR Head of the Year.

Other top performers included Avery Dennison Hong Kong who secured four trophies, including two gold awards for Excellence in Innovative Use of HR Tech and Excellence in HR Strategic Plan. 

Hong Kong Airlines outperformed its fellow finalists to attain the gold in Excellence in Compensation & Benefits and Excellence in Employee Development.
