Heat index in the Philippines expected to hit high levels this week

PAGASA's 'highest heat index' indicates a computed five-day heat index from 19 April 2024 to 23 April 2024, as well as a two-day forecast for 24 and 25 April 2024.

Heat indices in parts of the Philippines could possibly reach 'danger' level this week, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

As cited in an article by the Manila Bulletin, the following locations are expected to have the corresponding heat indexes:

  • Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) station in Pili, Camarines Sur

45°C

  • Dagupan City, Pangasinan;
  • Aparri, Cagayan; San Jose,
  • Occidental Mindoro;
  • Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; and
  • Aborlan, Palawan

44°C

  • Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) station in Pasay City
  • Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and Guiuan, Eastern Samar

43°C

  • PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City
  • Central Luzon State University (CLSU) station in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija
  • Sangley Point, Cavite
  • Coron, Palawan
  • Legazpi City, Albay
  • Virac, Catanduanes
  • Masbate City, Masbate
  • Roxas City, Capiz
  • Iloilo City, Iloilo
