Korn Ferry has announced Armin Effendi joining the firm as its country chairman in Malaysia. Effendi most recently served as Kuala Lumpur office leader for a global executive search firm and was part of theASEAN leadership team. Throughout his career, Effendi has worked in executive and advisory roles across Asia, Europe and North America. He has worked as a senior consultant with Bain and Company in their London and Singapore offices.
Additionally, he served as director of strategy products at Accenture, director of consulting at KPMG and was general manager, international business development at Petronas, leading the company’s globalisation efforts.
He has also been a congressional adviser to senator Bill Roth in the US Congress as well as analyst and special assistant to the director general at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Malaysia. “Over multiple decades, Armin has helped to advise, inform and influence both the business and political landscape across Malaysia,” said Michael Distefano, president, Korn Ferry, Asia Pacific.
“He is a deeply experienced consultant with keen intellect and a true commitment to improving teams and businesses; we are thrilled to have him join Korn Ferry,” Distefano added. Effendi earned a MSc in International Relations at University of Kent, and a BA in International Relations (Hons) at the United States International University, in the UK.
