Whether you’re planning to hire a venue or party in the office, here are six simple steps to throw a holiday party to remember.

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. We’re surrounded by festive music, delicious food and drinks, and uplifting decorations. ‘Tis the season to spend time with your family, friends, and even your employees.

To make the most of the holidays, you could throw a Christmas-themed party for your company. Whether you’re planning to hire a venue or party in the office, here are six simple steps to throw a Christmas party to remember, courtesy a fun guide created by Snowshock, the slush machine suppliers.

Decorate your winter wonderland

To throw a Christmas party to remember, transform the space into a winter wonderland. In addition to festive elves and reindeer, you can decorate the space with:

  • A twinkling Christmas tree;
  • Faux snow and bright tinsel;
  • An assortment of festive wreaths;
  • Mistletoe, and
  • Boughs of holly.

And don’t hold back – you can never have too many Christmas decorations! When your employees enter the party, they’ll be transported to a world full of whimsy. What more could you want?

Make a Christmas playlist and sing along

Christmas music is one of the best things about the holidays. To get the whole office in a festive mood, make a playlist full of nostalgic anthems and dance the night away. Whether you like rock, pop, or cheesy tunes, there’s a Christmas song out there for everyone.

To get the party really started, you could hire a karaoke machine and sing along. Everybody loves (or loves to hate) karaoke. To encourage people to take part, assign a song to each department, and watch your employees sing together.

Slurp on winter-themed slushies

After all of the dancing and singing, you’re sure to be thirsty. To keep your guests feeling hydrated, invest in a slush machine and slurp on tasty winter-themed drinks. It’s simple – mix your favourite slush machine syrups with winter spices and make an assortment of festive slushies:

  • Nutmeg and blood orange;
  • Sour apple and cinnamon;
  • Blackcurrant and clove, and
  • Cherry and mint.

To get the party started, make slushies for the whole office to enjoy. They’ll go down a treat – this time and for all your future office events!

Enjoy a festive selection of snacks

Christmas is all about food! And you can’t have slushies without something to line your stomach. There are lots of festive snacks you could serve at your Christmas party:

  • Reindeer biscuits;
  • A Christmas wreath made of pigs in blankets;
  • Gingerbread people;
  • Brie and cranberry bites;
  • Christmas tree cupcakes

And why stop there? You could organise a Christmas lunch for the whole office. This is a great way for your employees to enjoy the festivities together!

Dress up and hire a photo booth

Rather than wearing a standard dress or suit, think outside of the box and create a dress code for your Christmas party. Even better, you could assign themes to each department and award prizes for the best costumes! To rise to the occasion, you and your employees could dress up as:

  • Santa and Mrs Claus;
  • A team of toy-building elves;
  • Rudolf and the reindeer;
  • A family of snowpeople, and
  • A Christmas nativity cast.

To remember all of the festive costumes, go one step further and hire a photobooth. You can also bring in some props to make the photos extra special, such as reindeer antlers and candy canes. The photos will be so good that you’ll want to hang them around the office!

Be merry and play group games

Finally, make the most of your office party and play Christmas-theme games. This is a great way to encourage people to socialise and laugh all night long. You could organise lots of fun activities:

  • A Christmas scavenger hunt to find the most candy canes;
  • Pin the hat on the elf;
  • A reindeer race;
  • A gingerbread house decorating contest, and
  • A Christmas quiz full of festive movie and music knowledge.

These games are sure to keep your guests feeling merry all night long. After all, ‘tis the season to be jolly…

There you go – six simple steps to throwing the best Christmas-themed office party! By following these steps, you’re sure to make the most of your time together. This will no doubt make the rest of the working year more fun, and you’ll have lots of hilarious stories to tell.
