Latest COVID-19 restrictions in Thailand's colour-coded provinces, in place till 30 Sep 2021

For provinces in dark-red zones, public gatherings of more than 25 persons are not allowed. For those in red and orange zones, public gatherings of more than 50 and 100 respectively, are not allowed. 

Thailand's Department of Public Relations (PRD) has released the latest COVID-19 restrictions according the different colour codes (dark-red, red, and orange). These restrictions will be in effect until 30 September 2021 (Thursday).

The latest measures involving travel restrictions, restricted activities, restaurants, and shopping malls, are as follows:

Travel restrictions

Dark-red zones (maximum and strict control areas):

  • Avoid unnecessary travel.
  • There will be a travel curfew from 9pm to 4am. Locals are to abide by inter-provincial travel measures.

Red zones (maximum controlled areas):

  • No travel restrictions.

Orange zones (controlled areas):

  • No travel restrictions.

Restricted activities

Dark-red zones:

  • No public gatherings of more than 25 persons.

Red zones:

  • No public gatherings of more than 50 persons.

Orange zones:

  • No public gatherings of more than 100 persons.

Restaurant operations

Dark-red zones:

  • Dining-in is allowed with 75% seating capacity for restaurants with open settings.
  • Dining-in is allowed with 50% seating capacity for restaurants with closed settings.
  • All restaurants are allowed to operate until 8pm.
  • No sale or consumption of alcohols are allowed in the restaurant.

Red zones:

  • Dining-in is allowed until 11pm.
  • No sale or consumption of alcohols are allowed in the restaurant.

Orange zones:

  • Dining-in is allowed, and restaurants can open as per normal.
  • No sale or consumption of alcohols are allowed in the restaurant.

Shopping mall operations

Dark-red zones:

  • Limited business operations allowed, until 8pm.
  • Tuition centres, cinemas, spas, amusement parks, fitness centres, swimming pools, conference centres, and banquet halls in shopping malls are to remain closed.

Red zones:

  • Businesses can operate as per normal, with restrictions on the number of persons present.
  • No trade promotion activities allowed.

Orange zones:

  • Businesses can operate as per normal.
  • Gaming centres and amusement parks are to remain closed.
