Corporate jargon is so common that we rarely stop to think about how cliched, unclear, or overused business buzzwords actually are.
For some Friday fun around overused words and phrases, GetVoIP compiled a list of 25 of the most annoying buzzwords, using data from Google’s Ngram Viewer tool. Which ones irk you the most?
Here are the choicest 10, and the full infographic below:
- "Bring to the table" - Your co-workers would prefer you get to the point and bring pizza instead.
- "Cutting edge" - Â Ironically, most companies that use this term are anything but cutting-edge.
- "Deep dive" - Code for spending eight hours on something your team will use 1% of the time.
- "Deliverable" - Half of your co-workers have no idea what "the deliverable" is.
- "End of day" - Code for: "I'll rush through the project to appease your unrealistic demands."
- Â "Fast track" - Code for: Your project may be relegated to the dumpster, never to be seen again.
- "Guru" - Yoda was a guru and not a single person since.
- "Reach out" - Please don't reach out to Doug: he doesn't like you.
- "Take offline" - Realistically, taking it offline means taking the conversation over online chat.
- "Value-added" - Leaving this phrase out is a value-add to any business conversation.
