70% of staff placed through Adapt and Grow in SG retained for 6 months

Of the about 10,000 workers placed through the Adapt and Grow career matching services in 2015, 7 in 10 remained in employment for at least 6 months after their placements. Furthermore, in the first three quarters of 2016, more than 7,300 rank and file workers were placed through the initiative.

That was according to Minister for Manpower, Lim Swee Say, in a written reply to a Parliamentary question from MP Zainal Sapari on rank and file workers and the Adapt and Grow programme.

"The “Adapt and Grow” initiative supports workers, including rank-and-file workers, in finding jobs. The initiative includes career matching services and programmes such as Place-and-Train and Work Trials," Lim noted.

In the first 3 quarters of 2016, more than 7,300 rank-and-file workers were placed by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (NTUC-e2i) through the “Adapt and Grow” initiative, he elaborated.

He added that retention rates for workers placed through the Adapt and Grow career matching services in 2015 were high, with about 7 in 10 of about 10,000 workers placed remaining in employment for at least 6 months after their placements.

"MOM, WSG and our tripartite partners will press on with efforts to support jobseekers to find and remain in employment through the “Adapt and Grow” initiative," he concluded.
