Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) clearly has one of the best on-boarding practices in Singapore, as seen in the Asia Recruitment Awards 2016, in Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The banking group clinched the gold award in the category of Best Onboarding Experience at the awards - hosted at the Shangri-La Hotel on April 13 in Singapore, as well as won silver at the Hong Kong edition of the regional's largest awards ceremony.
"As most large organisations can attest, the mechanics behind onboarding are incredibly complex yet extremely important to get right. This award is fantastic recognition of the progress ANZ has made in realising the commercial benefits of ensuring our new joiners are fully effective on day one, as well as providing a better new joiner experience," said Maximilian Then, head of resourcing, Singapore and Hong Kong at ANZ.
"We have taken a holistic approach to onboarding improvements by enhancing proactive hiring manager and candidate communications, reducing the time required to on-board and simplifying our internal processes whilst ensuring strong regulatory rigour. We also have an amazingly engaged and collaborative team!"
The category's silver award was presented to Clariant Singapore and TWG Tea Company.
"TWG Tea is proud to be recognised by Asia Recruitment Awards for Best Onboarding Experience and this accolade is also a recognition for the newly launched Tea Institute that was established in early 2016," said Maranda Barnes, co-founder, and director of business development, TWG Tea.
"At TWG Tea, we believe our team members are the company’s best resources and this was one of the cornerstones for designing a state-of-the-art training facility and comprehensive on-boarding experience specially for new hires," Barnes explained.
"With a headcount of more than 3,000, TWG Tea is also proactively rolling out workshops with more targeted curriculum to build on and improve the existing team’s knowledge and expertise. The TWG Tea Institute and Learning Curriculum has also been deployed overseas and witnessed great success, making TWG Tea a sought-after employer around the world," Barnes added.
The bronze award was adjudicated to be presented to Kadence International and PMFTC.
Ashley Nin, associate director, Kadence International, said the firm was honoured to receive this award for its onboarding programme, alongside such an impressive group of companies.
"We are constantly trying to refine our approach to inducting new joiners, by making them as relevant, effective and engaging as possible for each individual, and it is so rewarding to be recognized for that effort," she added.
One of the things she called out for Kadence's onboarding process was the tailoring of sessions to each new joiner, based on their past experience and the scope of their role, "to ensure that all of the content and tools that they are exposed to is immediately useful to them".
