Civil servants in Perak to receive two months' bonus on 20 December 2024

Chief Minister Saarani Mohamad announced this at the Perak Legislative Assembly on 29 November, adding that the special financial assistance will be based on civil servants' respective basic salaries for November.

Civil servants in Perak will receive a two months' salary bonus on 20 December 2024, as announced on Friday (29 November 2024).

According to an article by Malay Mail, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the payment of the special financial assistance comes as a token of appreciation to civil servants for their contributions.

"In appreciation of their unwavering dedication in carrying out the entrusted duties, I hereby announce the special financial assistance to all civil servants under the administration of the state government including state exco, ex-officio, state-appointed teachers, Orang Besar Jajahan and daily part-time workers," he was quoted as saying. 

The amount will be calculated based on their respective basic salaries for November.

As further reported by Malay Mail, all village chiefs appointed before 15 December 2024 will receive a special payment of RM400 each.,

The announcements above were made alongside the reading of the state's Budget 2025. 

Budget 2025, the Chief Minister shared, is centred around five key focus areas: 

  • People’s welfare, whereby the state government aims to table RM628.65mn.  
  • Governance of projects of state interest, where RM398.99mn is to be tabled. 
  • Human and youth capital development, in which RM94.84mn is to be tabled. 
  • Environmental sustainability, whereby the government hopes to table RM69.79mn. 
  • Security of food supply, for which the government aims to table RM65.41mn.
