The daily nominal wage for migrant workers in Indonesia increased by 0.9% in October 2020, Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Satistik, or BPS) has reported.
According to the department, nominal wages refer to the average daily wages received by workers, as a remuneration for the work they have completed.
In its latest report on Monday (16 November), the department revealed the following key findings:
In October, the nominal daily wage of national agricultural labourers increased by 0.09%, versus September 2020 (October: IDR55.766, September: IDR55.719). Meanwhile, the real wages of agricultural labourers decreased by 0.15%.
Additionally, the nominal daily wage of construction workers (non-foreman) in October increased by 0.02%, up from IDR90,753 in September, to IDR90.771 in October; while real wages decreased by 0.05%.
