Expert insights from BASF and Dell on redefining talent mobility

Ensuring that global mobility programmes can withstand business pressures and reach their milestones is a key challenge of talent departments worldwide. HR pros from reputable companies BASF and Dell will join Workforce Mobility Interactive, Asia’s leading regional global mobility conference, to discuss and explore the link between international assignments and business value.

Organised by Human Resources, Workforce Mobility Interactive 2017, a one-day conference for director and VP-level HR professionals and mobility specialists, will take place in Singapore on 14 February, Kuala Lumpur on 16 February, and Hong Kong on 21 February.

Building a sustainable talent pipeline with leadership and critical capabilities and transform them into profitable growth is Dorothy Chan’s major goal as head of talent development at BASF.

In 2008, Chan joined BASF in Hong Kong and performed various roles in regional learning & development for Asia Pacific. Her next global role focused on aligning and defining what leadership means at BASF and implementing the concept in all regions. Before joining BASF, Chan managed the learning & development function for various MNCs in Hong Kong and China.

In addition to holding various HR generalist and specialist functions, Muniandy Maruthiah, regional human resources director at Dell, has gained experience in marketing communications, customer care, and learning & development. In his current role, he implements HR strategies that strengthen the company’s vision, transformation and continued growth.

Maruthiah has a master’s degree in business administration from Federation University, Australia, a master’s in arts from the University of Science Malaysia, and a post graduate degree in management from Cranfield University in the UK.
