Google regularly heads up the list of best employer and this year’s Best Global Company Culture list from Comparably, sees the search engine behemoth leading the way yet again, with an 85% approval rating from employees.
Adobe came in a close second, albeit with a higher approval rating of 96%, while South Korean company Samsung was the highest ranked Asian organisation – it was in fact the only Asian entrant in the top 50.
The scores were anonymously submitted by workers at the companies, incorporating feedback from the past year – with a focus on how well the companies have handled the coronavirus pandemic, factoring in employee wellbeing.
The list was dominated by US companies, with Microsoft coming in fourth, Facebook seventh and Zoom Video Communications a strong performer in twelfth place. Apple and IBM also placed in the top 20, while Uber also made the list (40).
The highest ranked British company was Newcastle-based software firm Sage (11) while Germany had three companies in the top 50 – Adidas (24), SAP (31) and Siemens (35) – and the Netherlands had two, Elsevier (8) and Philips (47).
To compile the list, Comparably measured 20 different workplace culture categories, including remuneration, leadership qualities, work-life balance, professional development opportunities, and perks and benefits.
