The review will take into account "the effectiveness of the enhanced infection control measures implemented by Singapore and the global situation at that time."
The Governments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Singapore have agreed to keep talks of the air travel bubble (ATB) between the two states on hold for the moment.
Both sides have agreed that a review of the way forward could be conducted in late August, per statements by both parties.
A spokesman for the HKSAR Government said yesterday (July 20) that given the recent surge of confirmed cases in Singapore, the condition for launching the ATB could not be met for the time being.
The statement by Singapore's Ministry of Transport made mention of "the recent surge in community cases and the imposition of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) measures in Singapore till 18 August 2021".
The review expected in late August 2021 will take into account "the effectiveness of the enhanced infection control measures implemented by Singapore and the global situation at that time."
