KESUMA expressed hopes that the PWP would complement existing wage initiatives, such as the Minimum Wage Order and Productivity-Linked Wage System.
A total of 1,077 employers in Malaysia have registered for the Progressive Wage Policy (PWP) pilot project so far, according to the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA).
KESUMA said that based on the pilot's results, it hopes that the PWP would complement existing wage initiatives, such as the Minimum Wage Order and Productivity-Linked Wage System.
In light of the project's execution, a town hall session on the progressive salary basics has been held with Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli. The session was also attended by various stakeholders, particularly from micro, small and medium enterprises to voice their views, concerns, and suggestions on proposed policies.
The panel consisted of YB Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, Deputy Minister of Economy, Dato' Nor Azmie bin Diron, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, and Dato' Hajah Norison Binti Ramli, TKSU (D&AB) KESUMA.
