Effective January 2025, Shah Md. has taken on the role of Regional Head of People at Hepmil Media Group, bringing with him a passion for adopting innovative methodologies to deliver impactful People solutions.
Reporting directly to Karl Mak, CEO and Co-Founder of Hepmil Media Group, Shah's role will be largely strategic, in aligning the Group's goals and objectives while ensuring its HR capabilities across six markets remain relevant and effective for employees.
Speaking to HRO, he adds: "Aside from supporting greater agility in expansion within the markets through multiple strategies, including policy and benefit reviews, I am also working alongside dedicated HR teams in all our markets to make HEPMIL one of the best workplaces to be at!"
His top priority in his first year is to ensure bespoke and precise People solutions are delivered swiftly to each local market. His focus remains on tackling the real challenges faced by the business and its employees, driving growth across all markets.
What excites Sha about this new role is the ability to work with all his country heads and local HR teams to address HR challenges, and strategising for business growth. "[I'm] excited to also be working with passionate teams to explore innovative solutions that are relevant for our business."
When asked about a pressing talent concern he aims to address in the region, Shah highlights the challenge of finding perfect-fit candidates in the niche creator economy.
"But marrying old-school hunting tactics with creative hiring methodologies, we'll fill up the roles soon enough," he affirmed.
On the other hand, one area of opportunity the leader aims to harness is the adoption of more innovative methodologies for delivering People solutions, one he acknowledges is a huge potential to tap on.
“Be it AI or automation, HRs of today should leverage on this exciting opportunity to rethink and reimagine the way we execute HR processes and deliverables.”
