A guide to applying for Malaysia's spousal, long-term social visit, and professional tour passes

Malaysia's Immigration Department advises individuals who are interested to apply for the passes to do so online, so that they are not required to regularly come to the office, and can avoid wait periods.

In addition to the guide for Malaysians looking to renew their passports online, the Immigration Department (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia) has released another guide detailing how to apply for pass extension under 'No Wrong Door' policy.

The pass extension application is available to the following groups: spouse pass to a Malaysian citizen, long-term social visit pass, and professional tour pass.

The steps are as follows:

  1. Register or log user ID at the ePLSI link on the Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia website.
  2. Select the application category, fill in the form, and upload the required documents.
  3. The application submitted will be reviewed by the immigration officer.

Applicants are to check the status of the 'No Wrong Door' application on the portal, and to note that the approval of the application will be emailed to them within three working days.

Should it be approved, they are to make the payment online (via FPX, debit, and credit) at the payment portal link on the website. To conclude the process, the applicant is required to appear at the Malaysian immigration office with the original documents for the receipt of the pass.

Individuals who would like to apply for the aforementioned passes are advised by the department to apply online at its website so that they are not required to regularly come to the office to check status, and can avoid long waiting times.
