With their similar product sets, major banks and insurance firms are people businesses – it’s the quality of their talent and how their workforces are managed, developed and incentivised that sets them apart from their competitors.

Human Resources magazine is delighted to announce that senior heads of HR from these financial services companies will share their experiences with their peers at Asia’s biggest and most respected conference on talent management and human capital strategy, Talent Management Asia.

Rajiv Ranjan, head of human resources at HSBC Global Service Centre, is a certified professional in human resources with more than nine years in experience, all in financial services in India, Europe and Asia.
He has an extensive background as an HR generalist, including experience in employee relations, rewards, performance management and HR policy formulation. Ranjan is a Commerce graduate from St Xavier's College in Mumbai, India.
Maybank’s head of group talent sourcing and development, Fong Tuan Chen is responsible for the bank’s human capital strategy, workforce analytics, performance management, succession planning, and leadership effectiveness acceleration.
As a member of the group human capital leadership team, Chen’s portfolio also covers all strategic HR initiatives which include total rewards, employer value proposition, and HR automation.
Chen's experience spans over 15 years in energy, consumer goods and finance in companies such as Coca-Cola, OCBC, BAT and Maybank where he has been since late 2009.
Simon Davies is the Asia Pacific head of talent management at Zurich Insurance. His 10-year career in HR started in London at RBS, a role which relocated him to Hong Kong in 2006.
An organisational psychologist with extensive experience in helping individuals and organisations build and execute talent strategies, Davies’ role at Zurich covers talent acquisition, internal talent management, succession planning, and diversity & inclusion.
Prior to joining Zurich, Davies worked in talent management at HSBC for four years. He is passionate about the role talent strategy plays in the success of organisations and the importance of this in Asian markets.
