Parent company Delivery Hero said the move comes as part of a wider geostrategic shift, to focus on regions offering stronger returns.
Food delivery platform foodpanda will officially stop operating in Thailand on 23 May 2025, parent company Delivery Hero announced last week.
The decision is part of Delivery Hero’s ongoing efforts to streamline its geostrategy, following earlier exits from markets including Denmark, Ghana, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The decision is aimed at concentrating efforts in regions within other parts of APAC where the Group sees greater potential for growth and returns.
Despite foodpanda's exit from Thailand, Delivery Hero’s regional team which handles functions including marketing and people operations for APAC will continue to be based in the country and operate as usual.
In the statement, Delivery Hero expressed its gratitude to its employees, customers, partners, and riders in Thailand, and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting them throughout the transition.
