Employers in Malaysia can submit 2025 projection of expatriates from 1 December 2024

Any unused projection balance for 2024 cannot be carried over to 2025 and must be utilised within the current year.

Malaysia’s Expatriate Services Division (ESD) announced on 26 November 2024 that companies registered on the ESD online portal may apply for the Projection of Expatriates for Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP) for 2025, starting 1 December 2024 (Sunday).

The projection application will only be applicable for use in its respective year. Any projection balance for 2024 needs to be utilised in the year 2024 itself and will not be carried forward to the year 2025, the ESD, via MYXpats Centre, has reminded.

To apply for application, please refer to the following steps:

  • Log in to your ESD account and click on "Applications"
  • Click "Projection" (located in the "Setting" tab on the left column of the screen)
  • Select "Projection year"
  • Request "New projection"
(Note: Justification for projection, numbers of local staff, and foreign worker (Pekerja Asing) are mandatory.)

Applicants are to take note of the following:

  • Please ensure to update the latest e-SSM before proceeding to submit the projection request.
  • Please ensure to fill out all the information required, e.g., total number of local staff, foreign staff
  • Please choose the correct Projection year (2025), and Position group, e.g., top management, middle management, technical expert, and entry level.
  • The process for requests has been simplified and will be instantly successful submission of requests, it was noted.
