HR job moves in Jan-Feb 2022: Adobe Korea's new MD, AIA Singapore's Head of ESG, and more

Simon Dale expands remit with additional role as Managing Director of Adobe Korea

Effective January 2022, Simon Dale (pictured above, extreme left) has taken on the role of Managing Director of Adobe Korea. Dale, who has been leading Adobe Southeast Asia (SEA) since 2019, will extend his leadership and business accountability to the Korean market, the computer software company shared in a press release.

Over the last two and a half years, Dale, based in Singapore, has led growth in SEA across Adobe’s business, delivering digital experiences for employees and customers. As Adobe continues to partner closely with SEA brands on their digital transformation journey, Dale’s expanded remit will "create new opportunities for the company to enhance customer support and exchange best practices across the region." As Managing Director today, Dale will drive Adobe’s Korea and SEA businesses across Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Document Cloud while reporting to Simon Tate, President Adobe Asia Pacific (APAC).

Commenting on the appointment, Tate said: "Simon’s experience in a wide range of industries and proven leadership at Adobe will ensure he is well-positioned to also support and transform various Korean customers, enabling them to take their businesses to the next level."

Dale added his views: "I’m delighted to work with Adobe Korea and customer leaders of Korea. Adobe Korea is committed to being a strong digital transformation partner, and we look forward to growing and building the digital landscape of Korea together with our customers."

Dale’s career spans over three decades of experience in the technology industry, including twenty years in the Asia Pacific region, and he brings with him a "rich experience" in the Korean market throughout his career journey, including scaling teams to meet local customer needs and developing local partner ecosystems to lead digital transformation across industries.

Dale graduated from Middlesex University with a Master’s Degree in Sales Management and Sales Transformation and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science from Staffordshire University. He has also attended a Management Development Program at INSEAD.


SAP welcomes Utkarsh Maheshwari as SVP & Head of Partner Ecosystem Success, APJ

SAP, a German multinational software corporation, has appointed Utkarsh Maheshwari (pictured above, second from left) as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of Partner Ecosystem Success, APJ, effective January 2022. Based in Singapore, he will be responsible for managing SAP’s partner business, working with more than 2,000 partners across all market units and lines of business.

Utkarsh shared: "In this role, I will be leading co-innovation with SAP partners across APJ to nurture an expert community of developers, investors, and ambassadors of digital transformation, and to help build the ecosystem of the future."

In a fourteen-year career with SAP, Utkarsh has held a variety of senior roles, spanning product development and marketing, Head of Field Transformation APJ, and three years as Chief of Staff to SAP’s SVP Human Resources, APJ.

Most recently, Utlarsh was Regional Vice President, Head of Business Development APJ, at SAP. Before joining SAP, Utkarsh started his career at Infosys.

Utkarsh is passionate about the digital economy, and its implications for the customers and the broader ecosystem of SAP. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore; and a Bachelor of Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering.


Leong Li Sun takes on newly-created role as Head of ESG, AIA Singapore 

Health insurer AIA Singapore has called on Leong Li Sun (pictured above, second from right) to the newly-created role of Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), effective January 2022. In this role, she will report to Wong Sze Keed, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore.

As the Head of ESG and based in Singapore, Li Sun’s mandate is to further embed AIA’s ESG commitment within the company’s operations, across five strategic pillars that will deliver long-term value for stakeholders: health and wellness, green operations, sustainable investment, people and culture, and effective governance. Li Sun will be working closely with AIA Group and the respective functions locally to develop and oversee AIA Singapore’s ESG policies, as well as to ensure compliance with group regional policies and best practices for accountability and transparency.

Li Sun is a certified sustainability practitioner with 10 years of experience in corporate sustainability. Prior to joining AIA Singapore, she held the position of Vice President, Head of Corporate Sustainability at United Overseas Bank (UOB) and served as Secretariat for the UOB Group Sustainability Committee. During her time in UOB, Li Sun successfully drove the integration of the company’s sustainability strategy across all functions, and secured UOB's inclusion on the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index and position as one of the few ASEAN banks to be rated “Low Risk” by Sustainalytics.

On her appointment, Wong commented: "I am delighted to welcome Li Sun into our AIA family. Her arrival will drive momentum in expanding AIA Singapore’s ESG credentials that will take our industry leadership to new heights and deliver meaningful outcomes for all.”


Adam Reidel is now OneScreen.ai's Head of People Operations 

OneScreen.ai, a SaaS-enabled B2B market network provider for out-of-home advertising, has brought on Adam Reidel (pictured above, extreme right) as Head of People Operations, effective January 2022. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, US, Reidel will lead all aspects of HR and employee operations for OneScreen.ai as the startup embarks on a phase of rapid growth and hiring amidst its endeavor to build a first-of-its-kind marketplace for the OOH advertising industry.

"Our people are our most valuable asset, and this role is absolutely business-critical as we strive to set the standard for fulfilled, engaged employees," said Sam Mallikarjunan, co-founder and CEO of OneScreen.ai. "It can be challenging to maintain a healthy, productive company culture as a startup begins to rapidly scale, and I am confident that Adam is the right person to lead the charge as we strive to build a people-centric company. We look forward to benefiting from his leadership, vision, and insight."

Reidel was previously the Senior Director of Human Resources at RS&H, a national architecture, engineering, and consulting firm. Prior to this role, he served online thrift and consignment store, Swap.com in various human resources roles, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources. Reidel also worked at General Parts International, Inc., as Senior Director of Human Resources, among other positions, and has held human resources roles at Pep Boys, Delta Sonic, Transamerica, and CVS/Caremark. Reidel holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree from University of St. Francis.

Talking about his new role, he said: "It’s such an exciting time to be a part of the growing OOH industry as well as OneScreen.ai that is well poised for success I look forward to supporting the company with human resource policies, procedures, and programs to motivate and inspire all employees as we continue to develop and build a company in which we can all be proud."

Reidel holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree from University of St. Francis.
