Johor’s economic landscape is set for transformation with the official opening of the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J) in Forest City on 18 February 2025.
The center is positioned to attract and facilitate high-impact investments across diverse sectors, from advanced manufacturing to digital technology and sustainable development. Designed to simplify investment procedures, it provides businesses with end-to-end facilitation services, reducing bureaucracy and accelerating project implementation.
Located at Menara Delima Satu in Forest City, IMFC-J was inaugurated by HRH Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Regent of Johor. The centre is seen as a key step in attracting high-impact investments across advanced manufacturing, digital technology, and sustainable development.
Several key leaders involved in the process have shared their views on the new centre and the overall investment landscape in Johor.
Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, Menteri Besar Johor highlighted the initiative as a pivotal step in enhancing Johor’s investment landscape. By bringing together federal and state governments under one platform, IMFC-J aims to attract global investors and foster economic growth.
At the same time, Yang Berhormat Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), noted that IMFC-J, alongside MIDA’s TRACK initiative, has already facilitated over 86.5% of approved projects in 2023, with 63% of projects approved between January and September 2024 successfully implemented. This demonstrates the effectiveness of a coordinated investment strategy.
Meanwhile, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Chief Executive Officer of MIDA reaffirmed that Malaysia’s collective goal is to establish JS-SEZ as a premier investment destination in the region by drawing high-value investments and promoting sustainable economic development.
Yang Berhormat Dato’ Haji Mohd. Noorazam bin Haji Dato’ Osman, Chief Executive of IRDA underscored IMFC-J’s role in addressing investment challenges. He highlighted that IRDA is focused on aligning infrastructure development with investor needs by providing seamless support, customised solutions, and strategic guidance throughout the investment process.
Finally, Tuan Haji Natazha bin Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Johor said: "We are committed to making Johor the premier investment destination, and through IMFC-J, we are strengthening Johor’s position as a key economic gateway within the JS-SEZ. We look forward to welcoming investors and working together to shape Johor’s future as a dynamic and sustainable business hub."
