The MoUs, signed in the presence of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, span sectors such as education, health, and logistics.
In his recent official visit to China, Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim witnessed the signing of 19 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Malaysian and Chinese companies for future projects in Malaysia. The MoUs span sectors such as education, health, automotive, property, waste recycling, and logistics.
The visit coincided with the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry's (MITI) Mission to China, which generated RM170bn IN potential foreign direct investment from China, and RM2.44bn in potential exports to China.
Led by MITI Minister YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz, the Mission is part of MITI’s continuous efforts in attracting quality investments and positioning Malaysian companies, particularly SMEs, higher in the global value chain.
Other key events during the mission included a roundtable meeting between PM Anwar and 36 Chinese captains of industry, representing businesses involved in the manufacturing (including electrical & electronics, transport equipment, automotive, petrochemicals, and building technology) and services sectors (including digital technology, telecommunications, finance, e-commerce, and aviation).
There was also the Malaysia-China Business Forum 2023 attended by more than 1,000 business representatives from both China and Malaysia.
