There is also a requirement to update the dependants' names in case they change over time.

Malaysia's Social Security Organisation (SOCSO, also known as PERKESO) has issued a reminder to employers hiring about ensuring that details about the dependants (or heirs) of foreign workers are uploaded at the time of first-time registration, then updated as and when there is a change in the dependants' status.

The specific form for this purpose is called the 'Foreign Worker Dependants' Declaration Form' (Form PA-F101R4), pictured above, which has options for both first-time and updated details to be filled out.

This step is important as, in the unfortunate event where an employee dies as a result of an employment injury, his dependants will be entitled to the 'Dependants' Benefit'. The daily rate is 90% of the average assumed daily wage, subject to a minimum of RM30.00 per day and a maximum of RM148.50 per day.

The daily rate share for Dependants’ Benefit is based on the following priorities:

dependants benfit widows

If an employee dies and does not leave any widow or widower or children, the Dependants’ Benefit will be paid to:

dependants benefit grandparents
