Malaysia launches 10 Planning Guidelines for KL 2024 to ensure effective implementation of development projects

The 10 guidelines cover digital plan application, advertising display structures, and more.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department of Malaysia, Zaliha Mustafa has launched 10 'Planning Guidelines (GPP) for the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur 2024' to ensure that every step of planning and implementation of development is monitored more effectively. This will further help in evaluating the level of effectiveness of certain policies and strategies implemented as well as promoting continuous improvement.

The 10 guidelines cover:

  • Low carbon building review guide
  • Implementation guide for planning & development of electric vehicle charging stations
  • Guidelines for planning the submission of applications and compliance with the requirements for the installation of outdoor advertising display structures in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
  • Guidelines for planning height control of landed residences in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
  • Communication strategy planning guidelines in KL
  • WPKL planning information digital plan application auidelines
  • Guidelines for planning dual key shaped residential units
  • Planning guidelines (GPP) for parking requirements 2024 edition
  • MADANI WPKL vendor space facility guidelines
  • Kuala Lumpur civil residency planning guidelines

All 10 Guidelines that have been drafted are the result of a detailed study and consultation by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) with the involvement of various stakeholders.

Minister Zaliha stated: "Through the launch of this GPP, I am confident that DBKL can be guided more transparently and carefully and can ensure a better life for current and future generations, thus ensuring that Kuala Lumpur continues to grow as a sustainable and livable city."
