To be launched on Labour Day (1 May), the framework will provide guidelines for KESUMA, and the government as a whole, when it comes to human capital development programmes in the country.
Malaysia will be launching its National Human Resource Policy Framework on 1 May 2024, during the Labour Day Celebration, according to a report by Bernama.
Highlighted in January this year, among a series of initiatives being planned by the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), the framework will lead an intention of achieving the target of a 35% skilled workforce by 2030, while also supporting the concept of decent work under the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Convention as well as the Sustainable Development Agenda.
According to Bernama, the framework will provide guidelines for KESUMA and the government as a whole when it comes to human capital development programmes in the country.
Announcing this at the Labour Day event pre-launch, as further cited by Bernama, Human Resources Minister YB. Steven Sim affirmed: "This will address the gaps and discrepancies in the existing policy documents." The Minister also shared that the framework will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
As shared previously, the National Human Resource Policy serves to prepare a competent labour market to face future challenges such as the development of digital technology, the agenda of an aging country, green jobs, job mismatches, and the need for decent work.
As part of the 2024 Labour Day celebrations, a variety of activities will be presented through KESUMA's rebranding and dedication to the new 3K principles — welfare, skills, and employee success.
As many as 18 programmes will be organised, including five series of 'Pocket Talk', KESUMA Madani career Carnival, ASEAN Green Job Forum, Labor Day Run, and more.
