Manulife is giving its 37,000 employees a ‘Thank You’ day off on 18 June

This is on top of the five extra personal days the financial planning company has already given its employees this year to support their wellbeing.

Manulife, a financial planning company, for the second consecutive year, is giving its entire global workforce of up to 37,000 employees, including 19,000 employees in Asia, a “Thank You Day” off-day today (18 June).

This is on top of the five extra personal days Manulife has already given its employees this year to support their wellbeing.

The company, in addition, had dedicated a full afternoon yesterday (17 June) for all employees to learn more about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), in a first-ever ‘Global Afternoon of Reflection and Learning.’

In specific to employees in Asia, activities include:

  • A Pride and Prejudice research presentation by The Economist;
  • A DEI panel of senior Manulife leaders on how to have uncomfortable conversations; and
  • Various events run by Manulife’s employee resource groups (ERGs) on women’s empowerment, racial equality, and LGBTQ+2 inclusion.

“The efforts that our colleagues have demonstrated over the past year to keep Manulife advancing at full force amid a turbulent climate have been tremendous, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment.

“It is important that we take time to recognise their dedication and support over this season, and also use the opportunity to unplug and recharge our minds and bodies for the way forward,” said Dr. Khoo Kah Siang, Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Singapore.
