The HQ will house an ecosystem in urban solutions, smart logistics, and advanced manufacturing.
Surbana Jurong, Singapore-based global multidisciplinary consultancy, has opened its new global headquarters located within Jurong Innovation District (JID).
Dubbed the Surbana Jurong Campus, the new hub will house an ecosystem of enterprises in urban solutions, smart logistics and advanced manufacturing. At 68,915m2, the campus can accommodate over 4,000 employees.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong remarked: "SJ’s new campus itself can be an incubator for innovation and industry collaboration. Your campus is located within Jurong Innovation District, which is also a hub for wider collaboration and innovation."
Looking at the larger picture DPM Wong acknowledges that these investments in R&D will take some time to translate into concrete economic outcomes for Singapore.
"But this is precisely why we must take a long-term view. These investments will ultimately help to develop a critical mass of capabilities, ideas, and talent. They will help to sharpen our competitive edge globally, as a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy."
